If you had told me 3 years ago that I would have paid REAL MONEY to go see a Justin Bieber concert at my own free will, I would have kicked you for being stupid.
But here we are. A couple of some catchy music tracks later, and a documentary 'Never Say Never', I have to say that my opinion of the Biebs has changed.
The day tickets went on sale I finished work at 7am, so I rushed over to the nearest Shoprite (Sea Point) and stood 6th in the queue for 3 hours, all set to pay big bucks to go see this kid.
After tickets finally went on sale, the computers crashed after the first person bought Golden Circle tickets, and by the time it came back online (FOUR MINUTES LATER) all the GC tickets were sold out, so I settled on General Standing.I knew some of my friends were going, so all in all, it was gonna be a JOL.
The day came, I picked my sister up from school (I know, right? When I was in school we were like "concerts... what?"), and we went through to the concert venue, and stood in the queue for 3 hours. FUN.
Once inside I broke off from my sister so she could go partay with her vriendinne, and I looked out for my peeps, spotting some grown ass men that happened to be there too (looking at you @JarrydBeighton and @Tauriq_Bux).
I mostly stood at the back with Megan, trying in vain to find Kouthar and Zaynab, constantly moving around to find a view that was not obstructed by kids being hoisted onto their parents' shoulders.
Turns out, I COULD have gotten into GC if Tauriq could have found me amongst the throngs of people. But alas, it was not to be, but I enjoyed the show nonetheless, even though most of the kids there weren't really into the music. I swear half of them were sleeping on their parents shoulders (it was clearly passed their bedtime) and they could care less. It was obvious that they just wanted to meet the guy, cos obvs that's what happens at a concert.
HA.
