RHCP

I may not be the biggest of fans, but whenever I think about Red Hot Chili Peppers, I immediately go straight back to High School, where my friends and I would randomly break out into a chorus of 'Dani California' and other songs from Stadium Arcadium.

So when it was announced that RHCP would be coming to Cape Town, I didn't immediately jump out of my seat to rush to get tickets. But as minutes ticked by on the day the tickets went on sale, I had another "arg, screw it" moment, and went to buy myself and Preshina a ticket. I mean when else will you get the opportunity to belt out the words "Fist born unicorn, hardcore soft porn" with thousands of people?

I was happy to hear that Die Antwoord were going to open for them, because as strange as they are, they are equally entertaining (and hilarious too if you listen to their lyrics).
Although I missed most of their act because I was waiting outside McDonalds to give Preshina her ticket, I was still happy to catch the last of their crazy performance.

Bummed my friends and I didn't all get seats together!
Eventually made it in just in time to catch the last of Die Antwoord.
Then time for the headlining act!
CALIFORNICATION.
When RHCP returned to perform their encore, the crowd erupted into a cheer of 'Ole'.
You can buy the live songs from the CT concert here.

I'm a little disappointed to not have heard 'Tell Me Baby', 'Desecration Smile', 'Otherside', and 'The Zephyr Song' I must admit, but I enjoyed the show nevertheless. Their reputation of being crazy rock-stars precedes them, and they did not fail to DELIVER.

You can check out the full Cape Town setlist here, and more videos from the show here.
